Hello.

This is a podcast for people who want to hear some words of wisdom before drifting off to sleep at night. We're going to read some of those books you've always heard you were "supposed" to read and serve them up to you in podcast form, completely free of charge. Each episode is about 15 or 20 minutes long, so if you fall asleep partway through, it's easy to listen again and catch up.

Book #1: The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius

What's it about?

It's a collection of a Roman emperor's notes to himself about how to live life well.

Why this book?

Because it's one of the prime texts in Stoic philosophy, which may offer us some ideas about how to conduct ourselves in trying times (like those we're experiencing in the midst of a pandemic).
